2inch (5cm) wide by 24inch (60cm) long with a Hardened Steel Tip and additional welding. This is the Professional Trade version. The right choice for frequent use.
Popular uses are:

  • Planting Bulbs like Daffodills and others
  • Re-vegetation using 2 inch plant tube stock.
  • Termite trap installation (Much faster than manual augers for 2 inch bait station installation)
  • Drilling multiple holes and moving sideways between them to cultivate the soil deeply
  • Drilling a tunnel under a path

N.B. We hope it is pretty obvious... but we better say it - The price does not include the Dewalt Drill shown in the demonstration images. The Power Planter can fit onto any standard New Zealand drills with a 13mm chuck. (eg. Ryobi, Bosch, Black and Decker, Hitachi, etc )

Power Planter 224HD - A Truly Brilliant Tool

We have a 300mm layer of clay 300mm down where I’m planting trees. Using the Power Planter 224HD I drilled holes through the clay layer (very easily), to improve the drainage. This has completed my collection of Power Planter augers and I couldn’t do without them. They deserve a wider appreciation.

Power Planter 224HD - Impressed

Unfortunately haven't used it much yet but have used it to plant Spring Bulbs. Ideal as it only disturbs the ground immediately close to where the Hole is Bored. Also have done a couple of test Bores where I wish to drive a lot of 2" Sq Pegs. Just perfect, and the increase length is more than the depth I wish to Bore. I am sure I will find lots of applications for this Tool. The Hardened Tips will make it serviceable for a long time.

Great auger.

I'm using this power planter to install termite bait stations. As such, I'm using it in a variety of soil types, some being very rocky. So far, so good. We will see how long it lasts!
