If you really love the idea of not having to hand dig your garden anymore then I want to ask you to not just get one Power Planter. Sure it will do a great job, but like any tool, you will do a whole lot better if you have the range to choose from depending on the job.
When I'm in the garden, some jobs require extensive work where I'll grab the longer 324 model and use it standing up, other times Im just working with seedlings and I dont want to disturb all the soil so the small 207 is just perfect. And then right in the middle is the 307 for everyday gardening, freshening up the soil, cultivating fibrous roots in old garden beds and so on. I just have them all handy and the jobs get done so much faster.
These 3 sizes will have you totally covered.
1 x Power Planter 207 model - 2 inch wide x 7 inch long (perfect for seedlings and small bulbs where you want to naturalise in the lawn but not create large holes everywhere) $64.00
1 x Power Planter 307 model - 3 inch wide x 7inches long (General garden use where you are on your knees amongst the plants or for digging deep in the vegie patch) $76.00
1 x Power Planter 324 model* - 3 inch wide with a 24inch long solid steel shaft (Pull this one out when creating a new bed, or getting thoroughly stuck into rejuvenating an old one. Also great for tunneling under paths, drilling deep holes beside trees for fertiliser tablets and watering, mixing concrete/mortar in a barrow or bucket and much more) $140.00 (You already have this as part of your purchase today)
3 x pairs of Washable Garden Gloves - My favourite Gardening Gloves. Nitrile coated gives you grip when using the Power Planter, but protects your hands and keeps them clean. Breathable fabric back, also great for wiping the sweat off your brow. $19.50 ($6.50 x 3)
This package is designed by Brian to give you the most useful sizes in the Power Planter™ range for Gardening. This really is ALL you need.
Please Note: Price does not include the great looking Dewalt Drill - But you might like to go and buy one! I recommend the 985 model and get a 4 Amp battery too and you will be happy for years!
*The 324 Power Planter requires a 13mm chuck which is the most common size chuck in New Zealand but there are some (a small amount) of drills that have a 10mm chuck- no idea why they would do that! .
I bought the 307 to start and had a patch of garden I couldn't get a spade into at the time, spring bulb planting, and I was so thrilled when I remembered to use my new toy that I decided to get the rest of their sizes. When I emailed with my question re my actual drill Mark phoned me . My drill is just a small one not meant for anything like what I needed but had worked beautifully anyway. So I needed an 18 volt and decided to go all the way with this, bought a Ryobi with the side handle. Now I have a drill that can do anything and it always has a power planter drill attached to it these days lol. Honestly I've been using it right through the planting season and wouldn't be without it. My hands have arthritis in both thumbs, arthritis and sciatica in my back. On top of that, I slipped and scraped my knee which turned ulcerous and I always kneel to plant, **** whatever. So even in my soft veggie garden I've used my drill because I couldn't kneel to dig...drilled the holes in seconds and simply dropped the plants in. All I had to do then was to cover them..again soft earth anywhere you've drilled...so easy .Always use it on slow never fast. I really think the side handle is the answer. Gives the control and makes everything so simple.I can imagine using the big drill without the handle might not be anywhere near as easy. I love love LOVE my power planter and consider it the best investment especially with arthritis.s overjoyed with it. I'm a bit later than intended with my review beacause I've been writing gardening groups and telling anyone and everyone about it !!
We were told that the ground would be too hard, but the PowerPlanter ripped through it effortlessly.A job that would have taken weeks only took days.
Not only did the Power Planter arrive in 3 working days, the package deal I was offered was affordable and brilliant value, which meant I could actually afford a descent gift for my man, who loves this tool too. He has made me holes all over the garden for me to plant my plants, and his. The length and width of the different orgs are perfect sizes for the plants we need to plant. I love that as you use this tool, it makes the holes, but breaks up the soil to be fine like flour through a sive. We have clay, sandy and rocky soil (old river bed). My man has found it is a great tool for mixing up compost, sand, sheep and chicken manure, and any other ingredient he can find to add to feed plants. These mixed into plant holes before planting. Love love love this product! Thank you so much for the fantastic package deal, prompt delivery and Phenomenal product - The Power Planter - Regards Sarah.
Primarily bought for the long Power Planter to stir compost. Have now used all three. The smaller one was great to loosen a patch of dead grass so it could be replanted. Would definitely recommend these tools.
I am delighted to find something I didn't know I needed. This 324H PowerPlanter does exactly what it says it does,, and very efficiently. I can't stop drilling holes all over the place, however, be warned, buying plants to plonk into the holes is the expensive part. PowerPlanter have focussed on, basically, one product, and made a really good job of it. Well done.
